I'm not...God, it's like Sam and Dean have switched personalities or something. Sam is presenting now the way Dean did for the first two seasons (minus the smart mouth, mostly). It's weird. Not saying bad. Just weird.

Okay, angels again? Really? I mean, I suppose it makes sense, sort of -- we had three seasons of demons, so I guess we need one last season of angels. But, by averting the apocalypse, now we get Heavenly Civil War? So which side brought Sam back? And does this tie into Samuel's mysterious phone conversation?

Also, angels are buying souls? What would that even mean? I mean--if a demon owns your soul, it goes to Hell when you die. But if an angel owns your soul, you...go to heaven? Isn't that...I mean...I think I'm very confused, here.

Okay, raise your hand if you think Sam is *seriously* in denial about Hell.

Okay, I only dabble, infrequently at that, with Dean/Castiel but even I had a small squee at Castiel's comment about sharing a more profound bond with Dean, lol! I love that he showed up basically at Dean's beck and call!!

And yeah, the whole Sam paying for sex thing...like he couldn't walk into any bar and leave with the woman of his choice. I don't know whats up with that.

I agree with you on the role reversal that seems to be happening. Only difference is that it was SO obvious with Dean in S1/S2 that under that hard exterior was vulnerability and issues that made you want to hug him. With Sam...there's no vulnerability showing, not even a crack. He's cold - and its disturbing.

My theory, based on tonights show and the mention of souls is that Sam's soul is still in the cage. Bit of a jump, but i'm going with it for now :)

And what's with the 'SOON' in the previews?! Show is on next week right?!

I think Sam paying for sex is one of the ways for us to see how much he's changed -- because he clearly, totally tells Dean at the beginning in S4 that he doesn't pay for it.

I'm...your theory makes sense. Maybe even part of his soul, like, the parts that made him empathetic and caring and understanding, those were carved out and are still held. He's *Sam*, just not...completely Sam. If that makes sense? It'll be interesting to see if we're even remotely on track.

Consensus is that the "soon" means just in several upcoming episodes. Someone...somewhere, I don't remember now where I saw it, said there are eps listed for both the 15th and 22nd of this month, so we're good for at least a couple more before a mini-break.
