for Terri, that special kind of crack
Nov. 15th, 2005 10:50 pm"We've been seeing a lot of each other, and, well--the guys are starting to, y'know." Chris stopped and looked up, looked at poor Lamp, staring back forlornly, not a lava bubble in sight. He sighed. "Look, I'm not saying we have to stop seeing each other. Just, they're getting weird. Always asking me if I'm okay, and stuff. I just think we should tone it down a little."
Lamp bubbled then, a big colorful, sinuous burst of movement, and Chris sighed. "It's not you, okay? It's me. Or them. Really," he lowered his voice, "I think they're kinda jealous. Of what we have."
A couple more little bubbles drifted upward, but Chris thought Lamp seemed dimmer than usual. He really hated the thought of hurting Lamp like this, and moved closer. It's base was warm, so warm against his fingers, and Chris smiled when Lamp bubbled enthusiastically as he stroked all around the silvery bottom. "Okay, it was a stupid thought. They'll just have to learn to live with it. With us. Right?"
Lamp seemed brighter all of a sudden, the colorful bubbles within floating peacefully up and down. Chris nodded. That was definitely a good sign.
