plagiarism strikes again
Jul. 7th, 2011 09:59 pmJust a head's up that there's a plagiarist in our midst (again).
agt_spooky has had one of her stories plagiarized by
deanandsamsmuse. It's apparently a word-for-word, with "Castiel" replacing "Sam". Comments to the plagiarized story have the "author" self-reccing other of "their" stories, so y'all might want to check and see if any of your stories -- or any you recognize as belonging to other authors -- are up there.
Here's a link to to
agt_spooky's post.

Date: 2011-07-08 03:15 am (UTC)This is the same person(s) who plagiarized me last fall; s/he/they really get around, apparently. Unfortunately, stopping them is easier said than done. Signal-boosting is the best way to at least make people aware.
I know I've read things that I then thought, "man, I wish I'd written this!"... but it's never occurred to me to steal someone else's work. Makes you wonder, doesn't it, if they'll steal a story on the internet, what else would they steal, given the opportunity?
