KIM IS DONE WITH ALL ASSIGNMENTS AND EXAMS FOR THE SEMESTER OHMYGOD. *collapses*
I discovered this week that yes, I can do an entire semester of Music Appreciation in one week. I don't, however, recommend this. (Also? Really digging the Gregorian Chants of the middle ages. Pretty sure those are my favorites. Go figure.)
If I've figured everything right, I should end up with two A's and two B's for the semester. I can live with that :)
And now I can kick backand relax and do everything I've neglected this week, while feverishly working on my Music course. Meep.
Also, my new a/c compressor has been installed, charged, is working...just in time for the temp to drop 20 degrees. o_O

Date: 2011-05-14 01:31 pm (UTC)if you like Gregorian chant, I have to URGE YOU VERY STRONGLY to seek out the music of Hildegard of Bingen.
She lived almost 1000 years ago and was completely amazing. Here's from wikipedia : "Blessed Hildegard of Bingen (1098 – 17 September 1179) was a writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic, German Benedictine abbess, visionary, and polymath.
She founded two monasteries, wrote theological, botanical and medicinal texts, as well as letters, liturgical songs, poems, and arguably the oldest surviving morality play, while supervising brilliant miniature Illuminations."
here is one good youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yXJ0MDTI4Q&feature=related
One of my personal favorites, though it is a little weird as you might guess, is Lux Vivens (Living Light): The Music Of Hildegard Von Bingen, by Jocelyn Montgomery and David Lynch, Yes the actual David Lynch of Twin Peaks, Dune, Blue Velvet fame. :D If you're interested I could send you a copy?
Oh, and thanks very much for the Mother's Day vgift -- you are an awesome mother!
:D
