Matthew is playing Madden NFL 09 -- has been playing it all.freaking.day.

He's using the Cowboys as 'his' team ("they're the only GOOD team, mom!")...and I swear, there's no making this kid happy. He bitches if his team loses; if his team is winning, he bitches because the other team is playing so pathetically.

Meanwhile, he monologues the entire game to me -- just in case I miss the announcer's voice-over -- and talking about things I know nothing about.

Clearly, this is Hell.

I can't tell if it's a KID thing, or a BOY thing -- because I don't know that many girl-children, and the ones I do don't play video games. (I'm guessing it's a boy thing, though. *g*)

Heh. Yeah, the updates really make the evening. Day. Whatever. Fortunately, I've had a good number of years to perfect the "uh-huh!" and the "yes, I'm *totally* listening to you" snort of agreeing laughter.

re: the PS - I have no idea. I didn't realize there wasn't. But I've spent the weekend re(rerererere)reading old J2 and Sam/Dean favorites. :)

Hee! Well, the virtual Cowboys are kicking ass and taking names. Right now he's beating Miami 34 to three. *g* The last game he played he beat them 97 to zip.
