Y'all remember last year when the guy in Austria was found to have kept his daughter confined in the basement, and had fathered seven kids on her?

Here's another one: Man in Brazil jails daughter, has seven kids with her.

Even better, he's also accused of abusing one of the girls he had WITH his daughter. >_<

I simply do not understand what could make someone do this.

I keep thinking, too, of the kink_meme, where there's a whole slew of stories where Sam or Dean is a girl, and the other plus John keep her pregnant, and just. GAH.

I think at least part of it is that they believe that the daughters are their property, not actual *people* I'm guessing at least some of that is not just because 'they brought the child into the world' but because they are female - I'd bet the cases where sons are subject to anything even remotely similar are few & far between

Out of curiosity I did a quick count in the confined children section of feralchildren.com, and it seemed to be a little less than 2:1 girls:boys. So, a majority of girls, but by no means all, although I don't know how complete the list they have is.
