Why I Love Large Men, by Anna Davies
The article is pretty misleading, actually, and like
kitanachan, I found it very offensive. The author never says anywhere what it is she "loves/loved" about large men, but rather states that she used them as a shield, as a way to make herself feel better about her size, until she "got over" her issues and could enjoy the skinny guys she was really attracted to.
An excerpt from the article:
The guys were "larger than life" in every sense. Still, I wasn't drawn to them for their fantastic sense of humor or their laid-back attitude. I liked them because they made me feel better about myself.
It was only AFTER one of her large-sized suitors rejected her that she found a therapist -- and he rejected her because he wasn't up to playing psychoanalyst for her.
There's no email contact for the article, but it was originally published in Marie Claire. If you read the article and it offends you, and you'd like to let someone know, you can contact the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine at JoannaColes@hearst.com.

Date: 2010-01-05 05:48 am (UTC)(The general consensus was that the article smacked of repressed lesbianism and severe, deep-seated self-loathing and body insecurity. The tripe that Marie Claire sees fit to publish utterly astounds me.
