That's me, making the sad face.

I woke up sick this morning :( It's hovering in my chest/throat area -- icky, wet cough that triggers my gag reflex almost every time (when then leads to more coughing, and panting for breath). Low-grade fever. Matthew says "you think you have the swine flu?" *sigh* I said no, I don't have the swine flu. I haven't BEEN anywhere in over a week, or been around people, except him and Avery.

Just a chest cold/aggravated allergies/asthma. It'll be better tomorrow, hopefully, if the Mucinex does its thing.

But meanwhile... *sad face* I don't feel good, and I want my mom. Or some reasonable facsimile thereof.

I was all sick the other day and after being asked by three different people if I thought it was swine flu, I decided it was giraffe flu. :)

It didn't last very long, though, couple of days at worst.

This probably won't last long, either, but because my asthma is always at best only barely controlled...I get nervous. And given my history with pneumonia and bronchitis, it just makes me MORE nervous. Y'know?

Giraffe flu, though, I like that :)

Yeah. I always worry some because I take the methotrexate so my immune system isn't necessarily at 100%. (Though weirdly I tend to get sick LESS often on MTX, so perhaps the reduction in inflammation actually improves the overall function of my immune system even with the MTX hammering it once a week. Hm.)

But yeah. I decided if I was going to have to have an illness named after an animal, it should be fun. :)

Mickey! You are sick so much. *pets* Do you take vitamins? *stern face*

*snuggles* I don't, and I know I should :(

Part of it is just asthma -- only barely controlled at the best of times. But I'm prone to upper respiratory crap, and stress seems to make it worse.

I have some vitamins, I think. I should take them, shouldn't I?

Also, make sure you get enough vitamin D. It's involved in immune system function and most people in the US don't get enough through diet or sun exposure.

Yes, this. And folks who get 2000 units/day are less likely to get flu and other viruses, too.

Oh, goodness, that sounds good. Or just hot lemon and honey, actually. I got Stoffer's "Grandma's Chicken and Rice Bake" for dinner -- it's comfort food. Rice, chicken, cheese, some veggies, 20min in the microwave. It was good, but I mostly picked at it--food's kind of non-appetizing at the moment. (I ate because I took one of the Mucinex, and I'm very leery of meds on an empty stomach.)

At some point,if you can swing a really good air filter for your bedroom so that you have a place to be every night that doesn't havve much pollen, mold spores, etc., that would probably be a good thing for you.

Before we got the wool mattress, we vacuumed the mattress weekly to try to keep the dust mite population down, adn that helped with wheezing a lot. They love mattresses.

Awww, poor thing! I hope you are feeling better today!

(and everybody's first reaction these days when you say that you're sick, is 'do you have swine flu', isn't it?)
