The comment/quotes I like the best (plz to be noting the sarcasm in that) are:
A teacher's gender reassignment surgery has caught the attention of some parents who want to know why the school district didn't notify them ahead of time about the change.
and
Some parents told Travis Unified School District that they feel like their rights to know were violated.
And...why do they feel like it's any of their business one way or the other? What the hell difference does it make? Seriously. If the teacher is a good teacher, their gender is irrelevant, and it's their own private business if they were unhappy as one gender and felt they needed to be another gender.
Ugh. People really annoy me at times. How would those parents feel if someone was demanding to know the whys and wherefores of something intensely private and personal going on in THEIR lives?

Date: 2008-10-15 05:24 pm (UTC)Yeah, exactly. It comes down to the same thing with gay rights -- why the hell does anyone think they have ANY right to what goes on between consenting adults in private?
And you KNOW if someone said to one of those complainers "hey, you come in contact with _______, you need to tell us all about _______." They'd be all up in arms over their right to privacy.
Grrr. Stupid people.
