Once more, with feeling

God, I hate begging.
Thanks to a series of different things happening, we are struggling to come up with rent (for September), sudden, and rather urgent, vet care for two of our cats, and some lesser bills and meds for Matthew.
On top of everything else, our cats -- and the house, dammit -- are infested with fleas. We did a flea treatment three weeks ago, the one you apply to the spot between the shoulder blades that's supposed to kill adults, larvae, and eggs, but it doesn't seem to have worked. The cats spend their days, and probably most of their nights, scratching/biting/licking, and when they're not, they're sleeping (or fighting; it took me a little while to realize their behavior changes are at least in part from being so miserable all of the time).
Our rent is $825. Any amount you could spare would be helpful.
Flea treatment (baths for the cats, another dose of the behind-the-neck, and flea bombing the apartment AND the car), probably about $100ish.
Vet care... I have no idea. Also $100ish? Maybe?
I feel like this month has dragged on and on and on, and just gotten more expensive as it dragged.
I am hopeful that if we can make it through this next month, that October (and beyond) will be more settled and stable. It has to be, because even considering the difference makes my stomach clench in anxiety.
