Dean in "Anything" :D

1. Dean's never ashamed of anything he does -- including tricking -- and he loves the life he has (killing evil things = awesome), but sometimes he wishes he could give Sammy the ordinary life he so obviously wishes for.

2. The only trick he's ever had that felt like more than a trick was the guy who didn't want to fuck him. Just wanted to hold him, and be held. He paid for a hotel for a couple of hours, and asked Dean if he could call him 'Mike'. Dean rubbed his back while the trick sobbed in his arms and wondered who Mike was, and what happened to him.

3. Sam won't ever say anything, and Dean's not going to bring it up -- Hell will freeze over first -- but Dean knows Sam saw him. He knew Sam was following him; hell, he taught the kid everything he knows about tracking and stalking, and he kept going anyway. Maybe he wanted Sam to see, to know. But he's glad Sam doesn't look at him any differently, afterward.

*tears* I hurt so for him in this fic. It's beautifully done with the spareness reflecting Dean's flat affect when it comes to coping.

Geez. Now I kind of want to revisit this universe. Write out that full scene with the trick-who-wasn't. *scowls* This is all YOUR fault!
