I'm having trouble finding what I need, just googling, so if anyone can help me out here:

What are some fruits that are native to Germany, and when are those fruits in season?

Also, for the German speakers amongst you, how do you say "mother-in-law" in German?

Danke :)

I speak so little German that my heritage cries, but my very-reliable translator dashboard widget thing tells me that mother-in-law is "Schwiegermutter". It translated it back to English properly when I plugged it in the other way, which gives me much hope. But y'know, if anyone who knows how to say more than "I drink water" without checking a dictionary (why yes, that IS about my limit) tells you differently, you should DEFINITELY go with them.

Hugs!

Welcome, love! On an unrelated and unhelpful note, my mother (whom I had to call 'cuz anything re the German language makes me think of her) informs me that Schweiger means "To hold one's tongue." Which, you know, NOT the same word as "Schwieger" which ONLY means parent-in-law apparently, but still... fishy coincidence, that. *grin*

Guess what I'm working on!
Oooh, I am SO BAD with the guessing this week, love! Law school year two is doing its darnedest to kill off every braincell I HAVE (one exam left, baby, and if I can just get this outline done today I can pick the damn thing up and get it over with tomorrow!). Take pity on a wide-eyed little Yo, and then I can face-palm and say "oh, duh!"

Trust me, state I'm in just now, it'll save us SO MUCH TIME. *cheeky grin*

*hugs you and clings*

Yes, "Schwiegermutter" is right.

We have a lot of apples in Germany, in July/August to October, I'd say. Pears, peaches, plums, quinces, mirabelles around the same time. Cherries in summer (June/July to August/September) and strawberries in late spring/early summer (May to June).

And grapes in fall, but most of them are for making wine.

I approve of your research more than mine. Mine involved going to www.blog.christiandomesticdicipline.com which scared me. Not because I'm writing about spanking, but because a colleague gave me a list of blog sites she can't tear her eyes away from in order to help with my story.

spanking to show your wife her place makes baby jesus me cry.

Oh, GOD, the whole domestic discipline thing makes me LIVID. And very scared, that there are people out there who think that's okay! ARgh.

Come research with me. It'll make baby jesus you much happier ;) Oh, that reminds me--I have some .jpg files to send you; I found them looking for something else. I think you'll like some of 'em, and get a kick out of the others *eg*
