as birthdays go, this one's not too bad

Funny, but 40 doesn't feel any different than 39 did, last night. In fact, this morning was...well. Matthew forgot it was my birthday, until he asked why I was sitting at the table ("opening my birthday cards." "Today's your birthday?" "Uh-huh." "Oh. Happy birthday."). I had to work, though I took off an hour early. They turned the heat off in our building -- no one knows why or when -- and it was a whopping 55F(ish) degrees when I got there this morning. *shivers*

But! Oh, my god, y'all are just the best ever. Thank you, everyone, for the birthday wishes, and the v-gifts, and the e-cards. I'm going through, trying to catch every one and reply to each one--I don't want to miss any! You've made this a really lovely day :)

And God, iconis wrote me Sam/Dean fic. She made me CRY, even though it's not sad at all! I'm just--oh, hell, I know why I cried. I love Bobby, and she has a wonderful little bit in it, it's small, and if you blink you'll miss it...but read the story and if you know me at all, you'll understand why I'm still teary.

It's also NC17, and scorching hot and sexy, with lots of kissing and so much love between the boys.
