I don't have a preference with Sam/Dean! *g* It depends on the story and the situation and how well the writer writes the situation. Now, with J2? I have a preference for Jensen with his ass in the air and Jared all toppy and whatnot. But I've written that the other way, too, so. I'm hopeless. :D
