well, that was a shock

mickeymYeah, I know. I don't post for forever, and then, two posts within a 15 min. period.
I was looking at the calendar, and doing some of my holiday planning, and realized that 1) Matthew is going to be 29 in a week, and 2) it was roughly this time of the year when I started writing fanfic with real purpose...about 27 years ago. Give or take a bit.
I haven't written anything in years. Literally, like a decade. I sign up for the SPN Big Bang every year, but I haven't actually written anything that went anywhere, for forever.
But 27 years! That's roughly half my life. Thank you, to everyone who has shared this journey with me. Some of you won't see this, because you've moved on to other places — or left fandom altogether. There are others of you who won't see this because we lost touch, or fell out of friendship. There is a lot of regret in me for how some friendships ended.
Thank you again, every one of you.

Date: 2023-11-15 05:45 pm (UTC)I joined LJ in 2004, but had been writing for a couple years (in fandom) before that, and writing in general since I was a kid.
LJ and DW and AO3 and all of fandom were just...me finally finding my people. It's been lovely! I barely write anymore, either, which makes me sad, but hope lingers....

Date: 2023-11-15 06:50 pm (UTC)rough mental calculations show I've known you for most of that time - cannot remember just when we 'met' but it was likely pre-popslash, maybe when you were writing Sentinel?) it's definitely been ~23 years since I fell into popslash, and I'm pretty sure I'd read your fic prior to that
