TNT's eps today are The Phantom Traveler and Bloody Mary, and WOW do the guys look young. Sam's all gangly and baby-faced, and Dean looks less...haunted.

First time they buy suits and pretend (seriously) to be Feds, too :)

I love these two episodes in particular, anyway, so this is just awesome.

Baby!Winchesters :) Makes every day a better day.

I watched Dead in the Water yesterday and I actually teared up at their little faces. (And Jensens's normal voice, but I've beaten that horse to death so I won't say anymore about it.)

Y'know, I've been thinking about the "Batman" voice (and I feel the same way you do, btw), and its progression over the seasons. I wonder if some of it can be attributed to Dean's marked increase in alcohol consumption. I know my dad's voice got rougher/harsher as the years passed and his drinking increased -- and Dean Winchester (and Sam too, now, it seems) is the walking definition of "functional alcoholic".

I can't believe I've watched this show for six years, now. I've never watched ANY show for that long, while it was running live.

I know Jensen said he thinks Dean would want to talk like John and John's voice is all gruff, but I like the idea of the alcohol having an effect, too.

Bwahahahaa, yes!!! But Jared does it too, just not the extent Jen does.

Baby Winchesters! I didn't realize how much I missed the classic rock and those pretty baby faces until Season 1 swings back around on TNT. It always surprises me how quickly it cycles through. :D

Shows run in syndication usually have minutes shaved off each segment so the network can shoehorn in more commercials, and sometimes they also speed up the film just a little to reduce run time and shoehorn in even more commercial time.

The first time I saw S1 on TNT, I just assumed their voices were higher because they were speeding up the film. Then I wanted to rewatch a scene to clear up a question, and their voices were just as high on the dvds. Heh. Yes, babies.
