Say that it's Sunday, and you've just logged in to request your unemployment check. The system tells you (AGAIN, for the 2nd time this month) that it's too soon, you have to wait -- even though the counselor you saw just a week ago told you to request it on Sunday, the 27th.

You can't go to the unemployment office on Monday; got other things planned for the day, and the last time was two hours of waiting for five minutes of face-to-face time.

Never, ever, EVER utter the words, "god, I wish I didn't have to go to the UEO again; there's nothing worse than having to sit there, wasting time."

Never, ever, ever, EVER say anything like that. Want to know why?

Because you'll find yourself nauseous at 4a on Tuesday morning. Nauseous, and bouncing between sweating-buckets-burning-up-hot and shaking-shivering-freezing cold. It's not fun. At least the nausea just stayed as nausea, and there was no throwing up involved. But GAH. I ended up waking Matthew up at 530a because I wasn't sure what condition I'd be in when 630a rolled away. He's good when I'm sick; brought me water, and a dry piece of toast (we were out of crackers, dammit), and checked on me every half hour until he had to leave for school.

I slept all day, tolerated chicken noodle soup and crackers for dinner, and shall go to bed shortly. I don't feel wretched like I did earlier, but I don't feel great either. I really don't want to have to go to the unemployment office tomorrow -- but hell will freeze over before I say there's nothing worse. O_O

I can't even articulate how glad I was NOT to be throwing up. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but there's a very good chance if I had been throwing up, I would've begged Matthew to stay home with me. I hate, hate, HATE it, that much. But it's moot, now, thank goodness.

Now to go to bed :)
