story recs
Jan. 10th, 2011 12:41 amI just finished reading a J2 story that literally took my breath away: Changing Life, by
redrum669.
It's J2, rated NC-17, and comes with some definite warnings. Just a note that the author has "covered" come of the warnings, and has noted that highlighting them will give away/spoil the ending of the story. If you like to know all the warnings before going into a story, I recommend highlighting them before reading.
It's beautiful and sad, a little disturbing and dark, but it's also full of loving and caring. It's done in first-person POV, which I don't normally read, but it wouldn't work nearly as well or be as powerful if it was done in 2nd or 3rd.
Also shiny and awesome, and definitely in the "needs to be read NOW" category is Bright Spark into a Flame, by
deirdre_c. It's Sam/Dean, NC-17; author's warnings: content could be considered dub-con.
Sam and Dean, and some downtime in front of a roaring fire. SO good :) The love and trust between the brothers is front and center in this story, and the whole thing just settles over you like a warm, comfy blanket (with added smokin' hot sex *g*).

Date: 2011-01-10 06:49 am (UTC)Huh. I suppose I should go to bed, shouldn't I? What with the having-to-get-up-in-4.5hours.
p.s. - are you getting the really bad, awful, snowy weather?

Date: 2011-01-10 06:53 am (UTC)YES! It's snowed about half an inch, and it's turning into frozen rain. Mannnnnnnn, I leave GA for 10 years, it doesn't snow, I come back, and it snows for two years in a row. SOOOOOOO glad I don't have to go out in this!
Hope you're staying warm! =)

Date: 2011-01-10 07:00 am (UTC)We're expecting about four inches between Monday evening and Wednesday morning. In all likelihood, that will cancel school for Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing the total of snowdays to make up, up to six. *sigh*
I'm ready for spring, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a long while yet before it gets here. :-/
