I found a solution!

THANK YOU, to all of you who responded to my crazy quilt question. I think I figured out a solution that won't involve stitching/sewing/etc.

Down-filled blankets! Then I can have a pretty, pretty quilt and still be snuggly and warm. And keep the down comforter as a back-up for when it's *really* cold.

I have this in the light green! I just got it for Christmas, and it is wonderful! Very soft and warm. On my bed I use a sheet, a blanket, and then this as a comforter and it's perfect. :)

Oh, awesome! See, I'm thinking sheet, this, and a quilt. Right now I have a full-blown down comforter that I *love*, but the duvet cover I have for it is...boring. I haven't really liked any of the ones I've seen, but this seems like a workable solution :)

Technically speaking, so am I. But since I take benedryl at night to help me sleep anyway, I don't sweat it too much.

That is perfect. I have a little personal one that I toss on top of the bed, but if I am cold while watching TV, I just grab it and bring it downstairs. I love it.

I love mine.There are also down-alternative blankets.I have one of each and the difference is minimal. The down blanket feels lighter, more cuddly and the other one is pretty nice too. I don't think it's as warm, so it's nice when it isn't as cold.
