I know, right?! It killed me, the looks between Sam and Dean (Dean's obvs worry when Sam first mentions it -- and GO SAMMY for telling him! -- and then the horror after Sam levels all the demons AND pulls them out of Famine, and Sam's shame. GOD.), and then Sam in detox (sob) and Dean outside, begging for help with tears in his eyes.
How are these guys still functional, at all? Seriously.

This was like whoa. I had just rewatched Croatoan a few days ago (no clue why) and it resonated big time. With Dean locking himself in with Sam, shrugging off the whole imminent death thing, with lots of "it's okay. I'm tired. It would be nice to just rest, stop fighting" etc. etc. I guess he wasn't lying. *sniff*

I guess that they really aren't. Walking wounded mostly and just too damned stubborn to die. *sobs*
Even Castiel's looking kind of worn and ragged these days :( (Though I have to admit, the whole exchange in the morgue was funny as hell, with Dean calling Cas and then they're both on the phone, "I'm hanging up now." Hee!)
Ooh, Croatoan! My favorite ep of all of them, hands down. And yeah, well, last week Dean telling Mary that he and Sam are *totally okay* with having never been born.

Oh man, somehow I had forgotten about that. *sighs*
Poor, broken boys :(
So very yes. *sighs again*
Here, have a tasty, satisfying ep. coda (http://wordsothewitch.livejournal.com/16692.html) :-)
