what a difference four years makes...

I decided to spend this next week -- the one leading up to the start of Season 5 -- by watching the previous four seasons in order. S1, disk one right now.

Oh, my GOD they look so young! So innocent (yes, I know they weren't, but in terms of what's happened by the end of S4, they totally were). So fresh. They weren't completely run ragged yet. I kind of miss that innocence and freshness.

I'm on Wendigo right now; it remains one of my favorite episodes. Sam, in research!mode :)

And now back to cleaning up the living room!

Great Minds Think Alike! I'm doing the same thing. I'm on "Shadows" right now, waiting for Dad to show up. I don't know that I'll make it through the first three seasons by next week, but I'm going to try. I figure I can skip four as I've watched all those reruns.

I watch quite often with my Brother-in-law, he's very cynical about it to try and hide the fact he's a fanboy. So his schtick is "oh no, it's a Wendigo". So, for example, in It's a Terrible Life "I bet it's an office Wendigo" or in "Playthings" it's "I bet it's a hotel Wendigo" or Crossroad Blues "Clearly it is the Crossroad Wendigo." I have to admit I still find that amusing every time.

That was when I enjoyed SPN, bsck when it was all about the monster of the week and silly B-movie plots. Wendigo was just hilarious, and so was the one about the lake which crept up people's plumbing and drowned them. Hee! Good times.

Innocent is the perfect word for them, really. When it was just about Hunting Things and Saving People. Although the Thing That Killed Mom and Jess was always lurking, wasn't it?

I'd like to at least watch S4 again before Thursday, but I'm not sure I'll have the time.

I think I'll just have to make time.
