every time I breathe, I take you in
Jul. 11th, 2009 08:40 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
If y'all could help a girl out, I want (need) some recs, and what I'm looking for is fairly specific:
Happy, loving, schmoopy Sam/Dean. (Only Sam/Dean at this point, because I'm in the midst of working on my Big Bang, which is J2, and I just...I need me some Sam/Dean, okay?)
I don't care if the story has angst in it, but it HAS to have a happy ending (which, in my world, means the boys are happily together -- what's going on around them isn't the focus). I don't care if it's G-rated, or NC-17, or everything in between. HAPPY AT THE END is the focus, here.
Any length of story is great, but shortish ones (under 10K) are probably better since I'm trying to focus on writing, and am thinking of these as rewards for getting sections done.
I just finished (re)reading
lazy_daze's But If You Ask Me Who (It's Always Been You), and that's just a perfect example of what I'm talking about.
Thanking y'all in advance :)
And now back to writing.

Bird of a (http://kellifer-fic.livejournal.com/262803.html) by
Summary:Dean is holding aloft a large object with a blanket draped over it and looking inordinately pleased, which never bodes well for Sam and his current state of sanity. (Dean taking care of a temporarily laid up Sam - not your usual h/c. Also, there's a parrot involved)
you and me and a pillow make three (http://wanttobeatree.livejournal.com/715821.html) by
Summary:After the big firework display and the crazy, angel-assisted dash out of town, the apocalypse gets old real fast. (seriously, PILLOW FORT!)
PG-13 (ish)
Oh, it is love (http://fleshflutter.livejournal.com/30516.html) by Flesh!
Summary: Schmoop, because a girl can't write angsty horror for ever. Also, because when you start to feel that humanity - as a whole - is damn disappointing, schmoop is the best way not to start headdesking. (she's not lying, SCHMOOP!)
NC-17

(10,043 words) Spoilers through mid-first season. The one where they track a spirit, and do (not) go camping, and then it rains that there's hot making out in the Impala. And oh fuck, it's so beautifully written, so immediate and viceral.
Sell Your Baseball Cards to Pay the Rent by whereupon
http://whereupon.livejournal.com/90777.html
(4,750 words) General series. Feels like Season 2. "Dean thinks it's hilarious right up until one of the guys gets the ocean-green edge of a broken bottle up tight against his neck. Even after that, it's still kind of funny, it just costs a little more to laugh." It's really just so *beautiful*. I love how she writes Dean, every rash and raw part of him, and the imagery is so vibrant. I was hanging on every word.
Cheap Shot by whereupon
http://whereupon.livejournal.com/83651.html
(5,700 words) Season One era. Gorgeous and vivid. Sam POV first-time fic. "Any minute now, Dean's going to say something, and it's the waiting that's killing Sam."
Home Front by Destina
http://destina.livejournal.com/473625.html
(1,400 words) Unrepentant retired!Sam&Dean schmoop. I <3 the bunny banner.
When I Fall Asleep It Is Your Eyes That Close
http://britomart-is.livejournal.com/103818.html
(2,000 words) Post-S2 finale Dean POV coda, all hurt/comfort & schoomp. A good pick-me-up for the S4 blues.
Dioscouri
http://monster-of-hope.livejournal.com/4758.html
(7,800 words) The one where Dean is slipped a potion that prevents lying & removes inhibitions, and Sam has him watch romantic comedies. andthentheyhavesex.
Dating for Dummies by sevenfists http://sevenfists.livejournal.com/153081.html
(3,500 words) Really fun, newly established Sam/Dean. "Standing there at the counter while the person ahead of him in line hemmed and hawed over skim versus low-fat milk, Sam had a terrible epiphany: he was the girl in the relationship."
words for snow http://wanttobeatree.livejournal.com/696486.html
(4,160 words) Post 4x16 future-fic. After the Seals, Sam and Dean are making the best of what they have -- and it's pretty damn good. This made me happy.
Eight Things You Should Know by Candle Beck
http://candle-beck.livejournal.com/120887.html
(7,700 words.) "Sam sighed inwardly. Falling in love with Dean was the most annoying thing that had ever happened to him." A really endearing pining!Sam. This is one of those great, feel-good SPN fics.
Come My Way by Candle Beck
http://candle-beck.livejournal.com/113347.html
(7,000 words.) The one where they destroy an evil rollcoaster, fight like crazy, and thentheyhavesex. "Dean is the best person Sam’s ever known but Sam only believes that about a quarter of the time"
Ascalon by Candle Beck
http://candle-beck.livejournal.com/121356.html
(9,350 words) In which they hunt dragons in Nova Scotia, are adorable drunks, and finally get in on in the back of the Impala. I really love this author's Sam POV.
American Myth by Candle Beck
http://candle-beck.livejournal.com/109107.html
(11,500 words) "and everything’s worse and everything’s better because it’s Dean." The one where they fight like crazy and the Impala is stolen.
