I'm hiding from the kid because he WAS playing games at bedtime and now he's out like a light (thank GOD). I could probably go back in the living room, but now I'm comfy. :D

Meh. I'm on the couch, and reasonably comfy, but Matthew's playing Call of Duty, and the constant barrage of gun fire is a bit distracting (otherwise I'd probably be snoozing on my comfy couch).

Child continues to be out like a light (YAY!) and I have to sweep (it rained today) and load the dishwasher, which I'm not completely sure I can do with him asleep in the living room (recliner makes it easier to breathe for him).

I have a book about Henry VIII I'd love to read right now, but I'm getting droopy. ;-)

I was never a big fan of the 'Blair gets raped' stuff, but I really loved the way you made it not about the rape itself, but about the recovery and and the part at the end by the fireplace was amazingly hot!

I know how you feel, I look back at some of my earlier stuff and it gives me cramps. But I read a ton of Sentinel back in the day and that was one of the few stories that really stayed with me - so you must have done something right.

I'm with them. Your TS fic was a highlight for me. Dude, I have your zine.

It's funny, though. The comment I made before this was to someone re reading their early stuff and asking if people ever wanted to take theirs down. And it's a TS story of mine that makes me cringe when I think about it, too.

I haven't read any of my Trek stories in a long, long time, so I cannot tell you how I'd feel about them... I wonder, though, if sometimes our earlier stories aren't purer *fanfic*, because when we improve as writers, we do things a bit differently. I know there have been fics I've read with enormous joy not because of the excellence of the writing (as the writing was not excellent) but because of the emotional kick they delivered.

Maybe that's absurd.

Ahaha, my old fic makes me cringe so badly too. I don't think it's as bad as the stuff I read these days whenever I go hunting for bad fic, but it isn't as good as what I've written recently. But to be honest, I like keeping it around and also keeping it public. It's like a statement to myself and others of "look, I actually got better." :)

Ooooo, I know just what you mean.

The only thing that keeps me from taking down just about everything I've ever written except my Yuletide stories is the fact that I hate when other people take their stuff away. You know how when you first tumble into a fandom and you want to read anything you can find and you follow all sorts of links and most of them go nowhere anymore? I figure my old stuff is exactly the training-wheels sort of fic that newbies stumble on first on their way to better writers and they deserve it in all its awesomely trite glory. Dead links would just let them romanticize my unhoned skills. :)
