stuff and more stuff

Breast cancer has been around for decades, but it does not have to be our future. We can be the generation that eliminates breast cancer by identifying what causes this disease and stopping it before it starts. This is your chance to be part of the research that will end breast cancer. Sign up for your sister, mother, daughter, granddaughter, best friend, and the woman you met last week.
I saw this on The Today Show this morning, but it's difficult to sneak onto LJ any more, now that I know they're watching. I meant to post about it as soon as I got home, but that got sidelined as Matthew and I ended up "fall clothes shopping". Seeing it just now in
vickita's journal reminded me.
I'm not going to be able to attend Wincon after all. There's a money factor involved, but even more than that, there's the time factor. If I don't use any more vacation time AT ALL between now and Christmas week, I'll still be able to take my whole week...and end up with nine days off. Which, as much as I want to meet you all and hang out...I need that time off.
The last time I had three days in a row off, other than when I had pneumonia last fall, was before I went back to work...so back in the early spring of 2006.
Anyway! If anyone has decided last minute that they wish they could go to Wincon, but can't get a ticket any more, I have one. :) If you have some $ you could spare for it, that'd be great, but if you don't, you can still have it--I'd love to see it not go to waste.
And for all the wonderful ladies I was so looking forward to meeting in person...there's always next year, right?
