The moments when we say something inappropriate, jokingly, are too numerous to count. I said to my son last night, "one of these days I'm going to trip over my feet and break my neck" -- and I was joking (I'd just twisted an ankle and fell into the wall)...but we SAY stuff like that. Everyone does it. And Sam would, too--and then instantly call up everything they'd just dealt with. And GUILT. Heh.
