Before I get to all the fun stuff, first I want to say thank you (so much thank you) to the people who helped me out in getting the "emergency, must pay now" paid.

We're still scrambling and need, god, $600, to get everything current. (The rest of the electric bill, our auto insurance bill, cable, and phone.) If we can get through March we should (hopefully) be good to go. I've worked out a budget that I think is do-able.

Matthew made it through 10 hours of his first shift at the new job last week before he had to tell the supervisor he needed to leave. His back was hurting him so badly he was crying when he called me from the parking lot, sobbing, "I'm so sorry, Mom, I'm sorry". When he got home, he was barely able to move. His ankle had started hurting, too.

So we got him into his doctor on Friday (this past Friday). Sean ordered an MRI, because it sounds, he said, like Matthew has Spinal Stenosis. Generally it's found in older people (40+) and caused by osteoarthritis. But it doesn't mean it's never found in younger people. Once he's had the MRI and we know what we're looking at, treatment can be PT, pain medication (including corticosteriod injections), on up to surgery. His ankle was bothering him on Friday; by Saturday afternoon he was in a lot of pain and unable to support himself on it. So we're going to have to get a referral back to the foot/ankle doctor.

What all THAT winds down to is: Matthew can't work right now. At least, nothing he's qualified to do, all of which require a lot of standing/lifting/hauling. It's been a rough weekend, with him saying things like he hates himself because he should be working, and "it doesn't matter how much it hurts, I have to work, mom". Things of that nature. Fun times for all.

So, to sum up: Matthew's a physical mess and can't work, and we still need about $600 to get everything current. Megan's still working, which will be sufficient once we're caught up. Once again, if you can help us out, it would be so very, very appreciated. My paypal addy is kgasper at comcast dot net. Even a signal boost of this post would be very helpful, and very appreciated.

*hugs* from all of us.
