I know it isn't really the arctic circle, but goodness, it's cold. *shivers* It's 18* (F) outside right now, with a "feels like" of 10*. We have the thermostat set for 68, and all the sink faucets dripping, and we're all still sitting under blankets and afghans to keep warm. Winter can be over now, please and thank you.
Matthew's new job is going very well. He's going to be a driver for TACK (stands for "Transportation Authority of Central Kentucky"). It's a state program, funded through Medicaid, to transport persons to doctor appointments, to work, and things of that nature. We thought he was going to be paid weekly, but it's bi-weekly, so his first paycheck won't be until the 25th of this month. Which creates a problem for us.
Our electric bill is due on the 7th of the month (that's with an extension). I just called the electric company to see if they could extend it out until the 25th, but the CS agent I spoke with said no, they can't do another extension on it. It has to be paid by the 7th. It's $85.
Is there anyone who could help us out with this? After this we should be good to go, with Matthew's paychecks (and Megan's; she turned in an app to the same company for a monitor position, but probably won't hear from them now until next week).

And BUGGER. Matthew just came in and said that the car didn't want to start, to come home. We've known the battery was going; the extra uber!cold is just making it worse. We have a "special" battery that ranges in price from $95 @ Walmart to $250 @ Napa Auto Parts. So, geez. Whatever anyone could help us out with. Please. And hopefully, eventually, I'll be able to get people paid back, or pay it forward, or something.
