summer can end now, seriously

Right now it's 99F outside, with a heat index of *113*. You know how they do heat advisories? We have a heat WARNING, complete with "limit outdoor exposure".

I'm not sure my a/c has clicked off all day. Meh.

I've spent all summer trying not to complain (much) about the heat, because I don't like cold winters any better than hot summers... but enough, already. It needs to cool down, pronto.

Judge strikes down California's ban on same-sex marriage

(CNN) -- A federal judge in California on Wednesday overturned the state's ban on same-sex marriage, saying the voter-approved rule violates the constitutional rights of gays and lesbians.

I know it's just the first step, and it's likely to get very complicated and messy. But it's a step FORWARD.
