Okay, I have a question for those of you who know things I don't: when I'm doing job applications for Matthew, there is a question for most of them about disabilities. It asks "do you have or have you ever had, a disability". And then there's a list for you to look at, to see (I guess) if you have one of those (or have had, and it's gone away).

Given the current political climate...would it be best to not answer? You have the choice of yes, no, or I prefer not say.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

I think that unless requiring some actual accommodation (special equipment, etc.) I'd go with "prefer not to say" - but that's not legal advice. if there's a disability services office around, you might check with them -

It might depend on the individual company. Some will put the application straight into the circular filing cabinet, but some may have accommodations to offer, or even a quota to fill. Not sure how it might work in the USA, big companies here do have obligations in that respect. Could be worth seeing if you can investigate what the particular employer is like before you make the decision on how to fill it in.

I usually fill it in as yes, because I qualify in like four regards. I don't feel like it's ever lost me a job. I don't know that it's ever gotten me one either, but it hasn't done any harm.
