Nono, Chin is all about loyalty and Five-0 is his family. He totally is working the inside--getting Steve out of the mansion without him getting shot was Job 1 and he got it done.
Come on, come have a nice frosty umbrella drink--did you know DeNial River runs through Honolulu? I have a lovely barge rented for the summer.
I WAS TOTES DISAPPOINTED IN CHIN AT FIRST but I have a feeling that he's gonna be all BAMF-y from the inside and bust Steve and Kono's asses out using his bamfy skills of bamfness.
Yeah, I'm aboard the Chin for the Win train, here, as when Chin, Danny, Kono and Jenna are watching HPD ransack Steve's office and their HQ, Chin says something to the effect of "I'm not standing around any more doing nothing," which to me means he heads off to accept his reinstatement and Lieutenant-hood so he can be on the inside of the Steve investigation and have Steve's back.
Danny's ire aimed at Chin is a bit o_O to me, considering Danny was quite happily fixin' to hop on a plane like a thief in the night (seriously, what fully functional adult does something that blindingly ridiculous? No discussion? No considering of pros and cons? No dealing with their messes like grown ups? No consideration of what this tumult will do to Gracie? The mind boggles...) and turn his back on Steve and his 5-0 family; I think there's more than a little bit of guilt inherent in that attitude, as Danny was about to do the very thing he's essentially accusing Chin of doing -- abandoning Steve the minute something better comes along.
Actually, thinking about it... there are definitely parallels in Danny and Chin's situations in that both are being asked to come back to relationships that caused them years of pain, heartache, loneliness, etc -- situations made more bearable by having their 5-0 ohana. Seems to me that Danny knows, in his heart, that he was ready to just up and abandon Steve, and he's thinking Chin's doing the same thing.
See, I was under the impression that Danny was just going to the airport to see Rachel and Grace off, not to go with them (yet) -- because I remember him saying he had to tie up loose ends, reassign his cases, etc. before he could leave.
I need to rewatch the ep though, because Matthew kept talking and I missed stuff.
