Gah, the Winchester boys are killed -- and end up in heaven. And Dean's first memory/place is 4th of July 1996, and setting off a bunch of fireworks with Sam (played by Colin Ford). And Dean looks SO HAPPY during that bit, big, real smiles and relaxed body language, and then Sammy hugs him and it's just. Gah. That's when I started crying.
So, we're, what--five minutes into the episode, and I'm already crying. Holy shit.
I wonder how long it's been since Dean really looked--was--that happy. That kind of broke my heart a little.
Was that gorgeous or what? The night sky with the fireworks, and them so small on the ground looking up...the look on Dean's face. Lovely, lovely scene. And then of course, heartbreak. ::hugs Dean hard::
I had that same feeling, and that makes me that much more upset about the end. Because I wholeheartedly believe that would've been one of Sam's heaven memories too...
That scene made me cry too. It was beautiful Dean looked so happy. Plus little Sammy with older Dean is something I've been wishing for and they made it come true. That ending broke my heart.
