Okay, so I just finished The Doctor's Daughter.

Someone PLEASE tell me... am I going to end up crying through every single episode? *sighs*

Also, if one of you lovely Whofolk could tell me where I might find some Dr. Who (Ten, preferably) icons, I'd be ever so grateful. Ta.

No, not every.

As for icons. . . [livejournal.com profile] dwicons should do the trick for you nicely. :-D

Not every. Just most. Season four was really all about making you gasp and tug at your heart strings. Donna is ... frankly she is the best companion in a very long time. She and the Doctor are amazing together.

Agreed. Donna is made of awesome. Considering how much I hated her in the Christmas special and cringed so much when I heard she was the Companion, that's saying something. ;-)

Same here. I was completely unimpressed by the Christmas special, but she wasn't the same Donna when she became the Companion. And just season 4 and the foreshadowing about her was just so *good*.

I don't want to say that I HATED the Christmas special, but I didn't especially like it and she truly annoyed me then. Fortunately, by the time series 4 started, she'd toned it down considerably and oh didn't I just adore her. And you're right, the foreshadowing was set up VERY well indeed.

*snugs Donna*

She might have beaten out Ace as my fav Companion. I'm not sure since I grew up on Ace, but it's close.

I have to confess that while I watched it a wee bit when I was young, I don't really remember it much. Finding it on the local PBS station was pretty hit or miss so catching it wasn't very reliable and I didn't really get back into it until a few years ago with 9.

Most of them set me off too, if I'm honest. Which, seriously. A kids' sci fi show gives me the wibbles. *facepalm*

I grew up on it. My father is an ENORMOUS Dr. Who fan. Actually I was born during an episode. My father was kicked out of the delivery room because my mom got a C-section so he watched a Tom Baker episode on PBS while I was born. I've seen episodes from all of the Doctors at this point and even took a number of my father's VHS tapes with me to college so I could watch Dalek episodes while I was away from home.

Seven was the Doctor I remember the most with Four, Three, and Five after that.

Oh that is FABULOUS. I'm basically the only Who fan around. Woe.

Who, imho, is the best sci-fi series ever. It gives you everything you would want in a show - even cheesiness! There's the concept of family, home, and refugee throughout the whole show from the very beginning. One stole the TARDIS and after that spent all of his time running from the other Time Lords. Three was caught by the Time Lords and forced to stay on Earth without his TARDIS. Four became one of the leaders of the Time Lords. Five, Six, and Seven were all about hiding from their previous authority on Gallifrey and trying to stay out of the War.

(btw I'm drunk and trying not to do a homework assignment which is why i'm giving you a history lesson. *g*)

LMAO! Who am I to argue about history lessons? ;-D

I keep meaning to download the older stuff, but keep putting it off. I really should stop doing that. :-D

If you ask for rec's on what to download, you'll get a lot of people saying Four (Tom Baker) who is wonderful. Don't neglect the first three though. There's lots to learn about Time Lords in those regenerations.

*nods* Four seems to be very popular, but I'd have to go in order. My OCD would make me. :-D

Good, good. Just be ready to accept you can't get all of One and Two. A lot of their adventures are lost and exist only in recreations which are just audio with images.

*nods* Yeah, I've already gotten that impression.

(eep! Sorry kim, we sort of took over your post! lol)

Well, as most everyone else has said, not ALL of them. But yeah. You've only just begun to weep. It's worth it, though, because Donna is almost the best companion ever. No-one will ever beat Sarah Jane because she was the companion of my youth, but Donna rocks so very hard.
