I love how some people are just realising that fat has always been the acceptable prejudice.

TV shows, advertisement, books, comedy sketches, movies. It is EVERYWHERE.

One reason I watch very little TV these days.

Wow. It was about Mike & Molly? Wow. How does she live her life? Does she walk around with a blindfold with her arms flailing blindly in front of her? Because surely this isn't the only physical disability she cannot stand to look at. There are people who have asian skin, people who are omg-short! people who are too tall, who have limps, wonky eyes, big ears! people with freakishly white skin (don't get me started on those freckles, yo!). And what about those icky people missing digits or limbs?! Or can't even walk on the legs they do have?!

Yeah. That bitch has got serious issues. Thanks for this link :)

And Mike & Molly, while in a sitcom format, is really about a super insecure male cop who feels he cannot be loved because of his weight. And Molly is a woman who lives with her druggy, ditsy sister and her mother - both who have super incredible metabolisms and hence can eat massive pieces of chocolate cake and remain sticks. Molly is pretty fine with herself, but diets and exercise just don't seem to work so well for her.
I really like the show, and especially love this diner waiter - a recent immigrant from a non-descript African nation who finds Mike's food orders quite ridiculous and often asks Mike's partner if he's fucking with him, when Mike places his restricted-food meal of the week.
And actually Molly seems the most sane person on the show - she's played by Melissa McCarthy (who played Sookie, the Inn's cook on Gilmore Girls).
