sometimes life is just.not.fair. :(

So, one of the ideas I was considering as my big bang, the Supernatural-meets-Red-Dawn-meets-War-of-the-Worlds? I just saw a nice, big, long story posted that appears to have a similar theme. Aliens invading, rather than the supernatural element. *sigh* It sounds awesome, but now I won't let myself read it until I've done my Big Bang because I HAVEN'T DECIDED FOR SURE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE THINK I PLAGIARIZED. *sighs again*

Yeah, okay, this isn't the end of the world. But it's definitely annoying.

On the up side, I'm watching Dragonball Z: The Broly Saga with Matthew, and just laughing over how silly this is. Though I do like Piccolo ;)

Ah, I feel you, honey. I started my J2 Little Mermaid last spring (heh, write slow much?!) and then saw [livejournal.com profile] balefully (the awesomeness of [livejournal.com profile] balefully!) post a J2 Splash with Jared as a mermaid for Big Bang. *sigh* I wouldn't read hers either, but hey! I just realized now I can! So there's a silver lining!

Um, the point of all that? Go ahead and write YOUR story, nevertheless. It will be amazing and unique, I know it.

Hah! I just saw that post on my friendslist. One thing I learned lately: nobody can truly "steal your idea" because even with the same idea, they will still write it differently. So go ahead and write yours, it will be fantastic! :D

Also: DBZ was totally my thing when I was in high school. I impressed all the boys with my near-perfect knowledge of all the attacks/characters/happenings... and that I'd seen all the movies in subbed Japanese before they even hit America. XD They didn't like that I wrote Gohan/Goten incest though. >_>

Dude, my 54,000 word NaNo novel that was going to be my ticket to fame? Those Vampire Academy books I recced are the EXACT PLOT. A lot of the characters are even the same. I was so glad that I didn't send it in, I probably would've gotten a C&D or something. *lol*

Are you talking about [livejournal.com profile] flawedamythyst's new fic? Because I don't think it's absolutely necessary (similar plots pop up in fandom all the time), but I'd guess that if you sent her a message asking, she'd be okay with it. She's been incredibly nice any time I've ever spoken with her.

This happened to me last year, right before Christmas 08 and I was so sure I knew what I wanted to write... and then someone started posting their NaNo and it was pretty much the same thing. :/

Had I told you about the comm I was considering over the summer hiatus with a central library and catalog of deceased hunters' journals, curated by a female ex-hunter--in a wheelchair?
