Oh, this is so brilliant. I love the simplicity of your writing: the characters are so totally realized, so three-dimensional and engaging and real but you make it seem so easy. It's just how they are. I'm not expressing this well! It's just that there seems to be just enough words, not too many, not too few, to tell this really profound story about love and loss and grief.

There was so much convincing detail, but what really stood out for me was the connection that Sam and Dean had, even in this normal other life, and in this case the catalyst for their closeness was the tragedy that they shared, but it never felt that this was anything other than the next logical step for what they meant for each other. The sex, when it came, was so saturated with feeling, with love for each other. Just beautiful.

FYI, I cried on page two and at the end. And I laughed out loud several times as well. I loved the getting Chinese food for Christmas thing. And John Winchester's thong, for some reason I just went : yep, that is what they would find. :)

Congratulations, this is a really lovely piece of writing.
