The look on Dean's face when Castiel tells him Sam's headed down a dangerous road and they'll stop him if Dean doesn't.

see, it's awesome to watch that now, though, and know that Castiel is being a Lying Liar That Lies! Like he had any such orders EVER. Hah! Makes his manipulations during the episode even more brilliant. I mean, they have him send Dean back to witness tramatic things alone without his brother after telling Dean to "stop it" - letting him infer the obvious - and then only after everything let him know he couldn't change anything and it was actually a (pretend) threat against Sam's naughtiness. And of course follow that with, oh I guess I have been convinced to tell you where Sam is that you will accidentally uncover his secret before he confesses himself.

So they accomplished (a) emotional isolation, (b) an impression that destiny cannot be changed, and (c) beginnings of distrust in Sam. GENIUS. !!!
