speculation...SPOILERS



Anyone else think that, based on what Lucifer told Azazel, about "bring me a special child", that Sam is meant to be the host for Lucifer?

And that would mean... Dean is meant to kill Sam.

ETA: THAT IS NOT THE FUCKING MESSAGE DEAN LEFT! WHO CHANGED THE MESSAGE????

Now I'm not sure my speculation is right... God, I don't know. This is KILLING ME.

I don't see it happening. I don't think Kripke would take away Sam's character and if he was host to Lucifer you can bet Sam would be gone. Doesn't mean he won't be his own sort of baddie for Hell... but i'm going with that hope for now :P

No that can't be. Sam and Dean need to be together. Even if that was Lucifer's plan, our guys like to change things up. I can't believe we get Dean there and then he can't get though the door. Nice transporting Castiel! There has to be some way they can cripple Lucifer to some degree. This is awful, how could they leave it here!!!!

when I first heard the "special child" line, I too thought he's meant to be Lucifer's host. I'm not so sure now, but I do think Kripke giving us a brotherly moment and then following it up with tearing them apart again by making Sam the vessel sounds very much like Kripke.

Interesting how Sam was standing there so transfixed too, when Dean was all about leaving at the end. So I think it's possible, even if next season they have the brothers together at first again. Then when we don't expect it, blam!

I just really think a big anvil of the show for years now has been that Dean's gonna have to kill Sam. This would be the perfect reason why.

i agree-- it's anvilicious. after ruby leading sam around by the nose in order to manipulate him into place, this idea that there was a whole endgame involving the special kid champion has been taking form for a few seasons--as a vessel for lucifer is the next logical place to go. which is why i hope against hope that it's a fakeout.
and that next season isn't michael!dean killing dragondevil!sam but rather WINCHESTERS & Co versus EVERONE SUPERNATURAL-- I'M LOOKING AT YOU CREEPY ANGEL DUDES!!!
